Biography

Marco Del Freo – Singer-Songwriter, Author and Vocal Coach

Marco Del Freo is an eclectic artist whose career, which began in 1988, spans music, theatre, and writing. With an artistic journey covering decades of national and international success, Marco has combined a passion for vocal performance with a deep songwriting talent, distinguished by a pursuit of sound that puts authenticity and emotion at its core.

His official debut came in 1988 with a victory at the prestigious Festival de Viña del Mar in Chile. In the 1990s, his voice became familiar to Italian audiences through major television productions on Rai and Mediaset: Mille lire al mese, Viva Napoli y La canzone del secolo. In 2002 he co-wrote Doppiamente fragili, the song with which Anna Tatangelo won the “Nuove Proposte” section of the Sanremo Festival.

Alongside his recording career, he has composed film soundtracks, performed on theatre stages, and published the book Il discount del canto in 2016. He is currently working on You Rube, a new literary investigation into the digital and creative world, and on L’acquerellista, his first uchronic novel.

La Canzone del Secolo on Canale 5, alongside Pippo Baudo, Alba Parietti and Valeria Marini.

Festival de Sanremo – Nuove Proposte (Anna Tatangelo)

Co-writes Doppiamente fragili with David Marchetti. The song leads Anna Tatangelo to victory in the Nuove Proposte section.

Wins as author with the song Basta poco molto niente. A recognition that consolidates his signature as one of the most solid in Italian song.
